Consultation

When you visit us for your consultation (you can schedule one here!), you’ll be greeted with genuine smiles. Our treatment coordinator, Terry, will lead you back so she can take diagnostic records, including a digital 3D scan of your teeth and skull and digital photos of your face, teeth and smile. Once the images have been uploaded to our computer, Dr. Noorda or Dr. Okuda will examine your mouth and develop a diagnosis. You’ll then meet with the doctor to go over their findings, talk about your treatment options and ask any questions you may have. After you decide on a type of braces, we’ll chat about what you can expect at every step of your treatment, as well as the cost of braces treatment, insurance information and our payment plans. By the time you leave our office, you’ll feel fully informed and confident about beginning your journey to a brand new smile.

Get Your Braces Put On

Getting braces put on doesn’t hurt at all and we promise, there are no needles involved. You’ll sit back in a comfy treatment chair and Dr. Okuda or Dr. Noorda will apply a special adhesive to your teeth and then stick your brackets on. When your brackets are secure, they’ll thread the archwire through them. We’ll wrap things up by filling you in on caring for your new hardware.

Checkups

Depending on your treatment plan, you’ll swing by the office every six to eight weeks or so for a checkup. With Damon braces, we don’t have to tighten them like you would with conventional braces. We’ll simply examine your mouth, evaluate your progress and make adjustments if necessary. If you have questions, ask away. We’re always happy to help! Parents are welcome to come back to the treatment area with their child or teen during these visits. We find this helps them stay in the loop about their child’s care.

Your Braces Come Off

The big day is here! After we give you a high five, we’ll get down to business. Taking your braces off also doesn’t hurt. We’ll remove your wires, take off your brackets, polish your teeth and then let you admire your beautiful, straight smile in the mirror.

Retainer Time

Once your braces come off, your teeth have a natural tendency to shift back to their old positions. The only way to prevent this and ensure your results last a lifetime is to wear a retainer. It won’t seem like a big deal when you see how awesome your smile looks. Since we have an in-house lab, we can make your custom retainer right here at Okuda & Noorda Orthodontics. In fact, our lab technician is known for his amazing retainer designs!
